A quick and easy fall cocktail combining tart apple cider, smooth tequila, and rich caramel with a cinnamon-sugar rim. Ready in just 5 minutes, it’s perfect for cozy gatherings and brings back warm autumn memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces (120 ml) apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) silver tequila (e.g., Espolòn or Casamigos)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) caramel syrup (e.g., Torani)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rim)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for rim)
  • Ice (for shaking and serving)
  • Optional garnishes: thin apple slice, cinnamon stick, extra caramel drizzle

Instructions

  1. Chill a margarita or rocks glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon on a small plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the chilled glass, then dip into cinnamon sugar to coat evenly. Set aside.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add tequila, apple cider, caramel syrup, orange liqueur, and fresh lime juice.
  3. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker feels cold.
  4. Remove the glass from the freezer. Strain the margarita into the glass over fresh ice (for rocks glass) or straight up (for margarita glass).
  5. Garnish with a thin apple slice, cinnamon stick, or extra caramel drizzle. Serve immediately.

Notes

Chill the glass beforehand for a crisp rim and longer-lasting cold drink. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor—bottled juice will make the drink taste flat. Adjust sweetness by adding more or less caramel syrup. For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila and orange liqueur with extra apple cider and a splash of orange juice.
