This creamy high-fiber overnight oats with berries is a quick and easy breakfast that comes together in under 10 minutes the night before. Packed with fiber, protein, and antioxidants, it’s a satisfying and delicious way to start your day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice (e.g., unsweetened almond milk)
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen; blueberries, raspberries, sliced strawberries)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In your jar or container, add 1 cup of rolled oats, 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed, and a pinch of salt. Give everything a quick stir with a spoon to distribute the seeds evenly.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients: In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt, 3/4 cup of milk, 1-2 tablespoons of honey (or maple syrup), and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk until the yogurt is fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Pour and stir: Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients in your jar. Stir thoroughly, making sure to scrape the bottom and corners. You want every oat to be coated.
  4. Add the berries: Gently fold in 1 cup of mixed berries. If using frozen berries, don’t worry about breaking them up too much—they’ll soften overnight. If using fresh berries, you can leave them whole or roughly chop larger strawberries.
  5. Seal and refrigerate: Put the lid on your jar and place it in the refrigerator. Let it sit for at least 6 hours, but overnight is best (8-12 hours). The longer it sits, the softer and creamier the oats become.
  6. Stir and serve: In the morning, take your jar out of the fridge. Give it a good stir. The texture should be thick and creamy, almost like a pudding. If it’s too thick for your liking, stir in an extra splash of milk until it reaches your desired consistency. Add any toppings you like—extra berries, a drizzle of nut butter, a sprinkle of granola—and enjoy cold straight from the jar.

Notes

For meal prep, make up to 4 jars at once; they stay good in the fridge for up to 5 days. Leave toppings off until ready to eat. If you prefer warm oats, microwave for 30-45 seconds with an extra splash of milk. The chia seeds and flaxseed are essential for the thick, creamy texture—do not skip them.
