A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe featuring a crispy skin and a sweet-savory honey garlic glaze, perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets: skin-on, about 6 ounces (170 grams) each, preferably wild-caught
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon, preferably kosher or sea salt
  • Black pepper: ½ teaspoon, freshly ground
  • Garlic cloves: 3 cloves, minced
  • Honey: 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce: 1 tablespoon (low-sodium preferred)
  • Rice vinegar: 1 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes: a pinch (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or chives: finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it heat up for about 5 minutes.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub each fillet with olive oil, then sprinkle salt and black pepper evenly on both sides.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  4. Place the fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap. Cook for 7-9 minutes depending on thickness, checking at 7 minutes to avoid overcooking. The salmon should flake easily with a fork and have a crispy skin.
  5. Remove the salmon carefully and brush the honey garlic glaze over the top of each fillet while still hot.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before cooking for crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Brush glaze after cooking to avoid burning sugars. If making multiple batches, keep cooked fillets warm in a low oven (200°F). For gluten-free option, substitute soy sauce with tamari. Reheat leftovers in air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to maintain crispiness.
