These adorable mummy hot dogs are wrapped in flaky crescent dough and baked to golden perfection. A quick, fun, and delicious Halloween treat that kids and adults alike will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (all-beef recommended)
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent dough (Pillsbury recommended)
  • Mustard or ketchup (for eyes)
  • Cooking spray or butter (for greasing)
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.
  2. Unroll crescent dough onto a cutting board. If using perforated dough, press seams together to form a smooth sheet.
  3. Cut dough lengthwise into thin strips (about 8-10 strips per sheet).
  4. Wrap each hot dog with a strip of dough, leaving about 1 inch exposed at the top for the face. Overlap dough slightly and wrap loosely.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
  6. Optional: Brush tops with melted butter or spray lightly with cooking spray.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until dough is golden brown and puffy.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Dip a toothpick in mustard or ketchup and make two small dots for eyes.
  9. Let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let crescent dough sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before opening. For cheesy mummy dogs, cut a slit in the hot dog and stuff with cheese before wrapping. Can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated. Freeze after baking for up to 3 months.
