Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • Sliced banana or fresh berries (for topping, optional)
  • Extra peanut butter drizzle (for topping, optional)
  • Granola or chopped nuts (for topping, optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon or cocoa powder (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Mash the ripe banana in a jar or container with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Add milk, Greek yogurt, and peanut butter. Stir until peanut butter is mostly incorporated.
  3. Add oats, chia seeds, and protein powder. Stir well until combined.
  4. Taste and add maple syrup or honey if needed. Stir again.
  5. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Top with desired toppings and serve cold or microwave for 30-60 seconds if preferred warm.

Notes

For best texture, use old-fashioned rolled oats, not instant. Stir the oats again about 30 minutes after mixing to distribute chia seeds evenly. Different protein powders absorb liquid differently; adjust milk as needed. Oats keep in the fridge for up to 5 days and get creamier over time. For a warm version, microwave for 30-60 seconds.
