A quick and easy one-pan dinner featuring ground turkey in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights and uses simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1/3 cup (110ml) honey
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) toasted sesame oil
  • 34 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil or avocado oil

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Mince the garlic, slice the green onions (separate white and green parts), and measure out the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  2. Heat the skillet: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Let it shimmer for about 30 seconds.
  3. Cook the ground turkey: Add the ground turkey to the hot skillet. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and let it cook undisturbed for 2 minutes to brown. Then stir and cook until no longer pink and golden-brown spots appear, about 5-6 minutes total. Drain any excess liquid.
  4. Add the garlic: Push the turkey to one side of the pan. Add the minced garlic to the empty space and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Pour over the turkey and garlic. Stir to coat evenly. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the turkey.
  6. Finish and garnish: Remove from heat. Sprinkle with sliced green onion tops, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir gently or leave on top for presentation.
  7. Serve immediately: Spoon over steamed rice, noodles, cauliflower rice, or in lettuce cups.

Notes

For best results, prep all ingredients before starting to cook. Watch the heat carefully once the honey is added to prevent burning. If the sauce gets too thick, add a tablespoon of water. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and freeze well for up to 3 months.
