This Quick Witches’ Brew Punch glows green in minutes using tonic water and a black light. It’s a simple, crowd-pleasing Halloween party drink that requires no complicated techniques or specialty ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups tonic water (chilled, preferably Schweppes or Canada Dry)
  • 2 cups lemonade (chilled)
  • 1 cup pineapple juice (chilled, no added sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (fresh squeezed)
  • 12 droppers full liquid Vitamin B complex (optional, for enhanced glow)
  • 1 teaspoon edible glow powder (optional)
  • 12 pounds dry ice (optional, for fog effect)
  • A few drops green food coloring (optional)
  • Gummy worms or spiders (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill everything: Place tonic water, lemonade, pineapple juice, and lime juice in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  2. Set up your black light: Position UV light to shine directly into the punch bowl. Test it before guests arrive.
  3. Mix the base: In a large pitcher, combine chilled tonic water (4 cups), lemonade (2 cups), pineapple juice (1 cup), and lime juice (2 tablespoons). Stir gently. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  4. Add glow boosters (optional): Add liquid vitamin B or edible glow powder. Start with a small amount, stir, and test under black light. Add more if needed.
  5. Add food coloring (optional): Add 3-4 drops of green food coloring if you want the punch to look green in regular light. Stir well.
  6. Pour into serving bowl: Transfer mixed punch into a clear glass punch bowl or cauldron.
  7. Add dry ice (optional): Using tongs and gloves, add small chunks of dry ice to the punch bowl. Lower gently. Never ingest dry ice.
  8. Garnish and serve: Add gummy worms, spiders, or floating eyeball ice cubes. Ladle into cups and serve immediately.

Notes

The tonic water is essential for the glow effect; use brands with quinine like Schweppes or Canada Dry. Chill all ingredients thoroughly for best glow and dry ice fog effect. Test the black light before the party. For adult version, add 1-2 cups vodka, white rum, or gin. The punch can be made up to 24 hours in advance but glow diminishes over time. Never store dry ice in a sealed container.
