A crisp, refreshing, and sparkling summer drink perfect for July 4th parties and casual gatherings, blending zesty citrus, gentle sweetness, and fizzy soda.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) simple syrup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold ginger ale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold club soda or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (a small handful, optional)
  • Sliced citrus fruits (lemon and lime wheels)

Instructions

  1. Juice about 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh lemon juice and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of lime juice into a pitcher, removing any seeds.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of simple syrup and stir gently to combine with the citrus juices.
  3. Pour in 1 cup (240 ml) cold ginger ale and 1 cup (240 ml) cold club soda or sparkling water slowly to preserve carbonation.
  4. Stir gently to mix all liquids without flattening the bubbles, then add a generous handful of ice cubes to chill.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more syrup or soda if desired.
  6. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon or lime slices, then serve immediately in chilled glasses filled with extra ice.

Notes

Use freshly squeezed lemon and lime juice for best flavor. Pour ginger ale and soda slowly and stir gently to keep fizz. Add ice only before serving to avoid dilution if making ahead. For a stronger citrus punch, zest lemon or lime into the pitcher before mixing. Variations include adding alcohol, muddled berries, or herbal swaps like basil or rosemary.
